Review of Greenfield Town, Massachusetts

Greenfield is an attractive place to live
Star Rating - 1/22/2024
I am going on 12 years as a homeowner in this town. It was an affordable option compared to other towns in the area, and since seems to have been discovered as a good place to live. This is reflected in property values that have increased substantially. Compared to what might be called more socially progressive or "hip" enclaves, this city acknowledges and embraces socio-economic differences. We don't suppress or ignore differences. There's no elitism here. Our downtown is advancing with a great new library and soon-to-be expanded cooperative food market. Speaking of coops, we have many of them, including Greenfield Farmer's Cooperative Exchange, that has existed since 1918.

Located very close to Rt. 91 and the more northern portion of the 91 "corridor", this town provides great access to Vermont, New Hampshire and the Hadley shopping area. While we don't have many box stores here, you can get to them easily in all those directions. In addition, being further north and in a more sparse area affords us better outdoor opportunities and less congestion. We have some of the best cycling routes in the entire northeast. There's little to not like.
